We’re pleased to share that planning permission and Listed Building Consent have been granted for works across multiple buildings at the City of London Cemetery and Crematorium.
The project involves the sensitive refurbishment and restoration of seven buildings (five of which are Grade II listed) within the Grade I listed City of London Cemetery and Crematorium landscape, which opened in 1856.
We’re honoured to be working within such a significant historic landscape and look forward to seeing the project progress on site.
Our residential retrofit and extension of a timber framed "Segal House" at the renowned Walters Way, has been featured in the September 2025 issue of Build It Magazine. The article by Rebecca Foster discusses the importance of good air quality in residential spaces.
Insulation and internal air quality were key drivers in the project. Materials were chosen to be as "natural" as possible - with woodfibre insulation chosen over more toxic plastic-based products, and EPDM rubber roofing over oil-based bitumen.
This reduced any harmful products being used in the project while ensuring the project achieved a high level of thermal performance.

Porchester Court is a heritage restoration project of three Grade II listed Victorian Terraces in Georgian style, built in the mid-nineteenth century, located within the Bayswater Conservation Area. With the belief that the most sustainable building is the one that already exists, and a commitment for sensitively bringing heritage buildings up to contemporary standards, we are particularly proud to be shortlisted for this award!
This project involves the sensitive restoration of a unique mid-century project built in 1959-60, to the designs of influential architect Michael Brawne. Alongside the careful reconstruction of the external timber elements, we are introducing a series of sustainable measures to futureproof the heritage building.
It’s been a pleasure to work once again with Alleyn's School on this innovative project, designed to launch Alleyn’s Intelligence Quotient curriculum.

We've just received planning permission for one of our residential projects in Woking, Surrey!
A collaboration between architect, client, and contractor, the project reflects our commitment to sustainable and thoughtful design. The proposal involves a sensitive refurbishment and extension, creating a high-quality, modern family home while respecting the existing building.
MAP Director Rob Mawson was part of the judging panel at this year's British Home Awards.
"It has been a real joy to be a Judge for the BHA this year. I have found it rewarding to review such inspirational projects and the discourse within the judging panel was insightful and has given me perspective that would have been hard to gain without this experience." (Rob)
Delighted to find that Creek Cabin has been shortlisted for East Suffolk Council's Quality of Place Awards 2024!
So much of Creek Cabin's design intent was to fit in with its surroundings and contribute to enhancing the visual and ecological landscape. We are therefore extremely happy to have the project locally recognised through this award.
Our sustainable retrofit for a multigenerational family home in Sydenham has been featured as Project of the Month in Build It magazine!
The retrofit of the mid-century detached property involved the integration of a ground air source heat pump to provide heating and hot water throughout the home, and a largely timber structure which minimises environmental impact. The landscaping was also a key element of this 'urban oasis', with careful consideration given to the surrounding flora and fauna.

The project creates a new, legible main entrance to the school by extending an existing caretaker’s lodge with a timber-framed, modular structure that provides a welcoming sense of arrival.
